Activities in the Area

Within a half-day drive are many of Montana's most scenic destinations:
  • Glacier National Park
  • Yellowstone
  • Bighorn Battlefield
  • Flathead Lake

But there also is plenty to do here in the Bitteroot Valley...

Deer come out frequently to graze in the pasture
Besides watching the wildlife on our own property, you might take a short bike ride or drive to some of the following activities in the area.

NOTE: Links below will open other websites in a new browser window.

Hiking

Numerous canyons cut into the West side of the Bitterroot Valley and wind into one of America's largest contiguous wilderness areas, the Bitterroot-Selway Wilderness.

Within a few miles are Mill Creek Trailhead, Blodgett Creek Traihead, and Kootenai Canyon, some of the most dramatic examples of glacial valleys in Southwestern Montana.

Bitterroot National Forest website is a great resource.

Here's one hiker's personal website (great photos! Sorry about the pop-up windows from his web host)

Horseback Riding

Our pastures are usually available for people travelling with horses.

Hot Springs

Lolo & Lost Trail hot springs are within an hour's drive.

Water Skiing

Como Lake is where the Valley's "beach bums" hang out and water ski.

Skiing

Lost Trail Powder Mountain has lots of powder!
